Washington Park Homes For Sale

Washington Park Luxury Real Estate

Washington Park

Located 9 minutes away from the community of Cheesman Park, Washington Park is a combined public park and neighborhood within the city of Denver. It is the largest urban park in the city, occupying 165 acres of combined natural and developed land. There are currently 6,321 residents living in the area.

Washington Park History

Wash Park as it is known to locals is the brainchild of German landscape architect Reinhard Scheutze, who drafted its plans between 1899 and 1908. Many other architects would add their own modifications to the landscape, but Scheutze’s base design remains. The neighborhood section first started around the same time Denver became a city, but the first large-scale housing projects first opened up between 1900 and 1940.

Amenities and Famous Landmarks

The Wash Park neighborhood is strategically located within the greater Denver area, putting it within close range of prominent business enclaves, schools, hospitals, and shops. The community itself plays host to a large number of tennis courts, pools, lawn bowling facilities and other similar amenities.

The recreation center received a recent renovation to better service residents. New facilities include an indoor pool, a weightlifting studio and other athletic functions.

These two streets are the go-to spots for people seeking some of the finest shops, bistros, and restaurants in Denver.
